“I’ve always used social media to stay in touch with people by sharing Bible verses, but somewhere we thought that uploading would have a stronger emotional connection,” Fr said.
Religious places no longer silence zones
Parishioners welcomed the idea. Brian Noronha, Director of Bassein Catholic Bank, Vasai, said: “I still remember that about a decade and a half ago I traveled from Dubai to Vasai and returned the same day after attending our annual fair held on December 18th. Such a live broadcast of prayer services helps people working overseas to stay emotionally connected and never feel like they’ve missed something. ”
This parish is made up of 1230 families with around 5200 parishioners. Founded in 1585, the church is still called today by its original Portuguese name “Mae de Deus”.
